‘click whoring’ is ok if it's in a blog

the infoweek iPhone sdk sham is continuing, started by Alexander Wolfe at infoweek, who i wont link to. see other post here, now with response from infoweek posted in the comments of the original write up i linked to ( original here and follow up here, both on speirs.org)

choice quote:

nor do we consider it ‘click whoring’ to write content that gets people riled up–that is the beauty of blogging

remember kids: you can say whatever you want about anything, as long as it's in a blog and generates clicks. if it's not a blog, then you're a nasty click-whore!

which reminds me: sex and violence is ok for TV, as long as they don't use any naughty words!

Fraser makes a great point in the second to last paragraph: why would i get my information from someone who admittedly has not downloaded the sdk, when i got get it from someone who has, better yet someone like Craig Hockenberry who actually has experience working on the iphone?

"all i know of the iPhone sdk i learned from slashdot..."

Fraser Speirs has a good dissection of a ridiculous article on Informationweek i choose not to link to about how evil and bad the iPhone sdk deal is. my favorite part: (Fraser's comments bottom, bold)

How is Apple’s rule that only apps it has signed can run on the iPhone going to play when it comes to corporate applications? One commenter on Slashdot...

...and that’s the point at which you have to laugh and close the tab.
